The official trailer of Iranian production Sheytan Vojud Nadarad is on air!
The official trailer of Sheytan Vojud Nadarad, signed by Mohammad Rasoulof, who won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, was shared. Considered one of the best films of the year internationally, the production will soon be released in virtual theaters.
The film is directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, It is known that he received a prison sentence in Iran along with Jafar Panahi. In addition, the Iranian government banned the director from making films for 20 years. Sheytan Vojud Nadarad was brought to life as the director’s 6th feature film. Sheytan Vojud Nadarad, translated into English as There Is No Evil, will begin screening on May 14th.
The plot of the film is as follows: Sheytan vojud nadarad tells four different stories about death penalties in Iran. The film, in which director Mohammad Rasoulof uses his own experiences in each story, focuses on the extent to which individual freedom can be expressed under a despotic regime and seemingly inevitable threats. In the film, where four separate stories are discussed, Javad, who wakes up early every morning and is an exemplary wife and father without knowing where he goes, plans to propose marriage to his lover on the birthday of Pouya, who cannot imagine killing a man but is tasked with doing so, unaware of the surprise waiting for him. The story of Bahram, who is a doctor who does not use IB and drugs, is told.
